my first essay

Can you guess what I am talking  about…  By: Molly Miller

The wind is blowing through the cold spring air the doors flap open and closed.  Screech!!!!!!!Everybody get inside before the wind starts to Roar! Bump bump down the cellar stairs shut the door on top. Lock it up and come on down until the whirlwind stops. These  are life threatening storms. I am very sad for the people’s lives that because of this have been torn.

I bet that you can hear the wind whistling through the crack of the door. The children have no idea why the people are screaming in horror. Out of all the things that flew up in the air soaring in the sky. Many people are becoming grateful for the fact that they didn’t die.

From that one tornado many people had been killed and buried into the ground. But then again this was a lesson that many people found astound. Into the air the precious memories went. People cry and people scream but it doesn’t even make a dent. And the number of people who were alive was subtracted by 20 percent.

And many people’s hopes dreams were harshly crushed and trampled down. The door swung open and people came out of their almost possible tomb. Now there are some big messes to clean up so go and find your broom.
The tornado eventually stopped. And the temperatures dropped .and the summer had finally ended .and those old tornado days had been suspended. The tornado killed many people just like it intends.
But I feel kind of bad for tornadoes after all they don’t have any friends.

my essay for the patriot contest thing

Victory

Do you remember all of the Wars that we won or maybe even lost?
There are many Wars that we fought in such as the American Revolution, War of 1812, Mexican- American War, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and Iraqi War, and whether we won these or not millions of Americans have been killed for our freedom.

The American Revolution
The American Revolution started 236 years ago when where we live today was still ruled by Britain and the USA was known as the thirteen colonies
I believe that the American Revolution was the most important War of the USA.  The American Revolution was the War with 40 main battles and when they all came together we won our freedom and became our own country. The American Revolution was basically the red coats against the blue coats but it was much more important than that it was when we became our own country. When George Washington led us to freedom from Britain.

The Revolutionary War started in1775. Millions of people were killed fighting for our freedom that is amazing. The people were tired of being Virginians they wanted to be known as something else more like being known as an American who fought in the revolutionary War to declare their freedom.

But then there was another problem.

…Slavery …

The civil War
The civil War was the bloodiest battle of all brother fought against brother
North against the south .All of that to end slavery .Abraham Lincoln was the president at the time when slavery was going on.  He did not like the fact that people would ship African Americans overseas to sell at a slave auction. If you ask me I think it is a terrible thing to do because the African Americans had as much right to be free as we do .The civil War went on for five years. Over 600,000 men, 2 percent of the population, died in it. We won the battle against the southern half and ended slavery.
So yes I am proud of my country. But we can’t forget we won many battles to become what I think of the best country in the world.

“Be courteous to all, but
Intimate with few, and let those
Few be well tried before you
Give them your confidence.”
 Quote By George Washington
