pirates

Pirates

The Ugly Pirate
On Sunday, I met a pirate,
He really was quite mean.
The look of his face,
And his greasy embrace,
It made my face turn green!
He had an ugly patch on his eye,
And also a stick for a leg.
His breath was foul,
So I gave a howl,
‘Coz it smelt like rotten egg!
He had never ever washed himself,
So he really stank something awful,
He picked his nose,
Then licked his toes,
His toenails were unlawful!
He’d never shaved his armpits,
So they were astonishingly hairy,
The smell of rotten meat,
Was the smell of his feet,
And his armpits smelt even more scary!
His t-shirt was yucky and hairy,
And rolls of fat were easily seen,
He had loads of pimples,
And fatty dimples,
He was everything farthest from clean!
He looked like a really ugly monster,
Like something scary from the telly,
Like a deformed pig,
Who somehow turned big,
Even his fingers were smelly!
He was the ugliest thing I had ever seen,
And weighed about as much as a tank,
He came to my house and gave me a stare,
So I knocked him flat on his back with a chair…
OOPS! THAT WAS MY UNCLE FRANK!

bubbles

Bubbles, bubbles all around -                  BUBBLES
Both big and small ones to be found!
Some offer fun and tricks for you,
While others have their jobs to do!

The bubbles that you blow up high
can catch a breeze and almost fly!
up and down the bubbles go
All you do is dip and blow

Detergent bubbles can get mean
To get your clothes and dishes clean.
Their power comes from plants or oil -
They do their job to bust your soil!

It's true that bubbles can be fun
But then, when all their work is done

It's down the drain to meet their fate
And Poof! They just evaporate!

jack frost

Authors note: what would it be like to wake up with ice all over your window on the inside of your house ? on a cold winter night jack frost visits a little boys house while he is sleeping and touches every thing turning it to ice .

 The door was shut, as doors should be,
Before you went to bed last night;
Yet Jack Frost has got in, you see,
And left your window silver white.

He must have waited till you slept;
without saying a single word                                                                                                                                                                                                                    . he crept away to the window and left

And now you cannot see the hills
Nor fields that stretch past the lane;
But there are fairer things than these
His fingers traced on every pane.
Rocks and castles towering high;
hills and ,ditches streams and fields;
And knights in armor riding by,
With swinging sords  and shining shields.
and airplanes here  and there
Big ships with sails spread to the breeze;
and  palm trees waving fair
On islands set in silver seas,
And butterflies with pretty wings;
 herds of cows and flocks of sheep;
And fruit and flowers and all the things
You see when you are  asleep.
For, creeping softly underneath
The door when all the lights are out,
Jack Frost takes every breath you breathe,
he  knows what  you think about.
 paints them on the window-pane
In fairy lines with frozen steam
 when you wake you see again
The things you saw in dream.

essay number four

 secrets will come back to bite you

Authors Note:   Hi it is nice to see you. My essay will talk about the book I have been reading and thesis statements and even a proper introduction sit back relax and enjoy the show the fun has just begun.

Have you ever read a book and you just can’t stop reading it. For the past year and a half I have been reading the pretty little liars series by: Sara Shepard and I have found many different ways to connect to these books such as text to self, text to text and text to text connection. There are many different ways that this book has influenced me in many ways and I suggest this book to anyone who likes fictional horror stories because they are fun and very entertaining to read.

Now while some people like the books and some people like the hit TV show I like both of them because the book and the TV show are not alike in anyway shape or form .I will be able to read the books without spoiling the show it is also fun to see how the show and the books connect because one thing leads to the next and it is like they are two completely different stories.

The books may be different from the show but I have my own way of connecting to them both. I can connect to the book because the main character is a popular girl who disappears and even though I have never disappeared I can relate to that because I  wouldn’t say that I am popular but I have a lot of friends and I am usually the leader of the group like the main character Alison.

Some people like the show more because of all of the action included in it. I’m more interested book because no matter what the author says she will always find a way to reel you into the book kind of like a sea bass.

my first essay

 Can you guess what I am talking  about…  By: Molly Miller

The wind is blowing through the cold spring air the doors flap open and closed.  Screech!!!!!!!Everybody get inside before the wind starts to Roar! Bump bump down the cellar stairs shut the door on top. Lock it up and come on down until the whirlwind stops. These  are life threatening storms. I am very sad for the people’s lives that because of this have been torn.

I bet that you can hear the wind whistling through the crack of the door. The children have no idea why the people are screaming in horror. Out of all the things that flew up in the air soaring in the sky. Many people are becoming grateful for the fact that they didn’t die.

From that one tornado many people had been killed and buried into the ground. But then again this was a lesson that many people found astound. Into the air the precious memories went. People cry and people scream but it doesn’t even make a dent. And the number of people who were alive was subtracted by 20 percent.

And many people’s hopes dreams were harshly crushed and trampled down. The door swung open and people came out of their almost possible tomb. Now there are some big messes to clean up so go and find your broom.
The tornado eventually stopped. And the temperatures dropped .and the summer had finally ended .and those old tornado days had been suspended. The tornado killed many people just like it intends.
But I feel kind of bad for tornadoes after all they don’t have any friends.

my essay for the patriot contest thing

Victory

Do you remember all of the Wars that we won or maybe even lost?
There are many Wars that we fought in such as the American Revolution, War of 1812, Mexican- American War, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and Iraqi War, and whether we won these or not millions of Americans have been killed for our freedom.

The American Revolution
The American Revolution started 236 years ago when where we live today was still ruled by Britain and the USA was known as the thirteen colonies
I believe that the American Revolution was the most important War of the USA.  The American Revolution was the War with 40 main battles and when they all came together we won our freedom and became our own country. The American Revolution was basically the red coats against the blue coats but it was much more important than that it was when we became our own country. When George Washington led us to freedom from Britain.

The Revolutionary War started in1775. Millions of people were killed fighting for our freedom that is amazing. The people were tired of being Virginians they wanted to be known as something else more like being known as an American who fought in the revolutionary War to declare their freedom.

But then there was another problem.

…Slavery …

The civil War
The civil War was the bloodiest battle of all brother fought against brother
 North against the south .All of that to end slavery .Abraham Lincoln was the president at the time when slavery was going on.  He did not like the fact that people would ship African Americans overseas to sell at a slave auction. If you ask me I think it is a terrible thing to do because the African Americans had as much right to be free as we do .The civil War went on for five years. Over 600,000 men, 2 percent of the population, died in it. We won the battle against the southern half and ended slavery.
So yes I am proud of my country. But we can’t forget we won many battles to become what I think of the best country in the world.

“Be courteous to all, but
 Intimate with few, and let those
 Few be well tried before you
Give them your confidence.”
 Quote By George Washington
